It's no picnic being a teenager — hormones are raging, you're uncomfortable in your own body, and you're confused and intrigued with the opposite sex without knowing exacly why. Now imagine all that happening while an entire cast and crew watches you make out with a stranger. Awkward, right? Somehow Elle Fanning managed to keep calm and professional when faced with that situation.
Fanning's role in the new coming of age tale Ginger and Rosa required the first big screen lip-lock of her career, and and it was like being thrown into the deep end. "It was funny because the boy in that scene, we had never met each other until that day," the 14-year-old Super 8 actress said during her segment on The Tonight Show. "And it was one of the last days on set, so it was like the director was building up to this scene."
Maybe she learned it from big sis Dakota or maybe Elle's not easily shaken, but she and her costar overcame the weirdness and got down to business: "We were like, 'Hi, how are you?' and then just started kissing," she recalled, laughing.
