Katy Perry was reportedly offered a mind-boggling $20 million one-year salary to join the American Idol judging panel, but she refused, according to a report from TMZ.
American Idol has been on the hunt for new judges since Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler made their exits earlier this summer. Mariah Carey came on board late last month, and now Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are rumored to be very close to signing deals to round out the panel.
Katy Perry, meanwhile, has been having a whirlwind year, both personally and professionally. She became the first artist since Michael Jackson to have five #1 songs off the same album, then filed for divorce from husband Russell Brand in February after just 14 months of marriage. Since then she's turned her heartbreak into hits with "Part of Me" and "Wide Awake."
