Bad news for “iCarly” fans: Nickelodeon says the show will be coming to an end.
Nickelodeon made the announcement on its website Thursday, writing, “For five wonderful years we've LOLed our way through countless episodes of the greatest web show on earth...iCarly!” Nickelodeon also confirmed the news on Twitter, where the show quickly became a trending tropic.
The teen comedy, starring Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress, has been on the air since 2007. According to the Nickelodeon website, this isn’t the last we’ll see of the cast. Jennette is working on a new show with “iCarly” creator Dan Schneider, Nathan has landed a movie role in “Game of Your Life,” and Miranda will be attending college.
Although the cast is moving on, there are still new “iCarly” episodes in the works. Nickelodeon tweeted, “Hey @iCarly fans, the end isn't here just yet. We still have hilarious new episodes left to air! :)” The show is filming until June and the last episode won’t air until November 6.
