With Big Eyes starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz poised to hit theaters this winter, director Tim Burton now has his focused on his forthcoming adaptation of the novel Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. 20th Century Fox recently pushed the film back again to March 4th, 2016, but it sounds like that's not stopping Burton from getting the cast together as The Wrap reports Asa Butterfield, star of Hugo and Ender's Game, is wanted to lead the film about 16-year old Jacob Portman, who seeks the truth about his grandfather's past after he's murdered by a “hollow,” a creature thought to be imaginary.
But in his search for the truth, Jacob meets a girl names Emma who can control fire, and takes him through some kind of time loop where he encounters a group of orphan children who have special powers but find themselves and the island where they live threatened by the hollows out to destroy them. The haven is run by a woman named Miss Peregrine, a role that has already been dished out to Eva Green. This will be Butterfield's fourth book adaptation following the aforementioned two projects and his breakthrough The Boy in the Stripes Pajamas, and it seems to be working out well for him. Here's hoping Burton can pump out something enjoyable and good this time. Sound good?
