Singer Rihanna has told Rolling Stone magazine she agreed a judge could ease a stay away order against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown over a violent altercation two years ago because she didn't want to hurt his career.

Brand Sense Partners filed its breach of contract lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, also naming her father, Jamie Spears, who is the conservator of her estate.
