The Backstreet Boys is an American boy band consisting of A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Scott Richardson and Brian Littrell. They became famous in the 90's with their debut international album, Backstreet Boys (1996). They released their second international album, Backstreet's Back (1997), Millennium (1999) and Black & Blue (2000).
After a two-year hiatus, they regrouped and released a comeback album Never Gone (2005). After the conclusion of the Never Gone Tour in 2006, Kevin Scott Richardson left the group to pursue other interests. The group then released two albums as a quartet: Unbreakable (2007) and This Is Us (2009).
In 2012, the group announced that Richardson had rejoined them permanently. The following year, they celebrated their 20th anniversary and released their first independent album, In a World Like This (2013).
The Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band in history, and one of the world's best-selling music artists.

Like his band mates, Brian Littrell (Baseball, basketball, soccer) and Kevin Richardson (football), and AJ and Nick (dance), Howie did both dance and Little League.
All five boys are married with kids of their own: Kevin and Kristin with two boys, Mason and Maxwell, Brian and Leighanne with Baylee, Howie and Leigh with two, James and Holden, and AJ and Rochelle with two daughters, Ava and Lyric. It was revealed on Dancing with the Stars (2005) that Nick, the last member, was gonna be a dad after announcing his wife Lauren was four-five months pregnant with their first child, a boy named Odin, and then added two daughters to the mix, Saoirse and Pearl.
One of their dancers, Angela Randle Elgani, recently dated their bodyguard, Q, around 2005, 5 years after the two met on the Millennium Tour in 1999, got married in May 16, 2009 until Q's death in 2013 while Angela was 5 months pregnant with their daughter, Chloe Johnny "Q" Elgani.
AJ and Nick's wives, Rochelle and Lauren Kitt Carter, have help their husbands with their addictions to drugs and depression.
AJ's wife, Rochelle Karidis, went to their Into the Millennium concert in Las Vegas in 1999, but met in 2001 at Choreographer's Carnival where she was a dancer and got together 8 years later.
Howie's wife, Leigh Dorough, was hired as the band webmaster in December 6, 2000, which got them together ever since.
Brian and Kevin's wives, Kristin Richardson and Leighanne Littrell, have not only been around since the mid-1990s, but also have appear in 'I'll Never Break Your Heart' as their husbands' love interests.
Brian, Kevin and Howie Dorough were all heartthrobs, had high school sweethearts, did school plays in and graduated from high school and sang in church choirs.
Both A.J. McLean and Nick Carter were both home schooled, so they never went to their prom. AJ, although, managed to graduated high school and walk with his graduating class.
Cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Scott Richardson arranged from Kentucky, where they're both Kentucky wildcat fans.
Nick is the only member who never went to high school.
The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013.
Their tenth album, DNA, reached number 1 of 2019. This is their third number one album since Millennium and Black & Blue.
