Sean has one older brother, Chase, a younger brother, Seth William Cunningham, a younger sister, Coryn Elizabeth Cunningham, and a white chihuahua, named Sandy.
Sean became interested in acting while watching his grandfather work on Because of Winn-Dixie (2005) as the special effects coordinator. His grandfather passed away before he could see Sean follow in his footsteps with the same love for the business as he had.
Sean's little brother, Seth, and sister, Coryn, are acting in roles as his brother and sister, in The Fields.
