Kevin Csolak
Mini Biography
Kevin Csolak is a professional actor, dancer, and singer. He has had the privilege of working as a child, teen and young adult on Broadway and television, in films, music videos, commercials, and print for the past fourteen years.
He presently is playing the principal role of Arab in Ivo Van Hove's 'West Side Story' on Broadway beginning previews in December 2019. He completed shooting Steven Speilberg's reboot of the iconic film, 'West Side Story' in the role of Diesel, a member of the Jets in September of 2019.
Born in Flemington, New Jersey, Kevin spent his youth at his mother's Star Maker School of the Performing Arts. With a homegrown love for and training in the arts, and an affinity for baseball and other sports, he was signed at the young age of ten with Shirley Grant Management. Under the expert guidance of Dave McKeown, Laura Van Winkle, and Shirley Grant's team in NY, Kevin's career took off. He recurred as Daniel Hughes on As The World Turns for CBS and performed at the Hilton Theatre on Broadway (presently The Lyric Theatre) in the original cast of How the Grinch Stole Christmas under the direction of Matt August and Jack O'Brien. The following year, Kevin led the cast of Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk as Jamie at the Wamu Theatre at Madison Square Garden. He then performed at the Vineyard Theatre as Dusty in Burnt Part Boys.
Kevin attended Frances A. Demares Elementary School, Reading-Fleming Intermediate School, JP Case Middle School and graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, NJ. He was very active in Student Government and from 7th through 12th grade was the class president. Kevin was accepted to New York City's PACE University's prestigious Musical Theatre Class of 2018. After a year with the program, he moved to Los Angeles, California to focus on his film and TV career. Kevin did find time while in LA to focus on his passion for the stage by working closely with top LA dance icons and mentors including Marty Kudelka, Ivan Koumaev, Misha Gabriel, Anze Skrube, and others. Repped by Clear Talent Group for dance, Kevin continues to work in the commercial dance industry.
Kevin has been blessed to meet and work closely with Broadway director and choreographer, Casey Nicholaw on projects including the LAB and Atlanta run of Broadway's hit musical, The Prom. And he starred on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre on 52nd playing the role of Shane Oman and Understudied the lead of Aaron Samuels in the original cast of Tina Fey's hit musical, Mean Girls.
Kevin was named to The Ensemblist's Inaugural 2018 list of 'Ones to Watch' in 2019 as one of the 'exciting new talent hitting Broadway Stages this year.' He was also featured on Pop Culturalist and in Time Out NY's Top Ten Hot Boys on Broadway.
Kevin danced for Hayley Kiyoko in the 2018 VMA's and for Justin Timberlake in the 2018 Super Bowl 52 Halftime Show.
In his own words, "my passion and drive is not to be wavered by anything or anyone." Kevin is in his fifteenth year as a proud member of SAG/AFTRA and Actor's Equity.
