Mini Biography

Mary Lou began her show business career at age 6 as a country music entertainer, performing throughout Southern California, Texas and Tennessee, winning local, state, regional, national and world championship titles.

At age 8, Mary Lou chose to pursue a career in television and film. Her hard work and talent was rewarded in 2004 with a recurring role on Nickelodeon's teen comedy, Unfabulous (2004). She reprised her role in the series' second and third (final) seasons.

In 2010, Mary Lou took a 4-year hiatus from her pursuit of her acting career, to attend Princeton University. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Art History and Theater.

At Princeton, Mary Lou was also member of the 120-year-old Triangle Club, the oldest touring collegiate original musical comedy organization in the nation, and the co-ed a cappella group The Roaring 20.

She now lives and works in Los Angeles.

Trivia

• One of Mary Lou's very early projects, "Future Girls: You can Be A Woman Marine Biologist", was made with scientist and author Judith Love Cohen (aka Judith Cohen), mother of actor Jack Black.
• Received awards at CARE 2005, 2006 and 2007, a red carpet event recognizing child actors for their positive contributions to society and to the entertainment industry - Universal Studios, Hollywood, California.
• According to Sue Rose, executive producer of the Nickelodeon show Unfabulous (2004), Mary Lou's character, "Mary Ferry", was never intended to last more than one episode. Introduced halfway through Season 1, "Mary Ferry" - the funny, likable nerd - finished the series with 30 episodes.
• Her cousin is actress Danneel Ackles.
• At Princeton University, Mary Lou is a member of the famed Triangle Club, the oldest touring collegiate original musical comedy organization in the United States. Former fellow Triangle members include Booth Tarkington, F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Stewart, Jose Ferrer, David E. Kelley, Brooke Shields and Ellie Kemper.
