Andre de Vanny is an award winning Australian actor who has worked extensively in Australia and the US for over 15 years.Andre began his career at a young age, starring in the international hit series Wicked Science. He has gone on to star in both major US and Australian productions, including the upcoming David Fields directed feature The Combination 2. Andre has worked extensively in the US, securing leading roles in the acclaimed mini series Hercules, Steven King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Salem's Lot, and the DreamWorks/HBO's miniseries The Pacific. Other film appearances include the beloved Australian feature Hating Alison Ashley, Under a Red Moon and Nice Shootin' Cowboy.
Andre has appeared in major Australian television series across all networks, including Blue Heelers, MDA, Canal Road, Rush, City Homicide, Killing Time, and most recently, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and The Doctor Blake Mysteries. Andre is also an established voice over artist, currently performing in the animated series Nate is Late as well as having voiced major roles in Dogstar, Li'l Larrikins' and The Flaming Thongs!
Andre graduated from Melbourne's prestigious 16th Street Actors Studio in 2008, and was invited to study with Ivana Chubbuck at her studio in Los Angeles. After completing a year of training with Ivana in 2011, Andre returned to Australia to star for the Melbourne Theatre Company in their smash hit production of Red, opposite Australian acting icon Colin Friels. He went on to star as Private David Taylor in the National Theatre's West-End hit production War Horse, performing in more than 300 shows across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. In 2015 Andre was awarded Best Actor at the prestigious Green Room Awards for his role in Glory Dazed for Red Stitch Theatre Company. Andre was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2016 Sydney Theatre Awards for his role in the award winning production Of Mice And Men for Sport for Jove Theatre Company. In 2017 Andre starred as Don Pedro in comedy smash The Rover for Belvoir St Theatre, as well as the world premiere of new Australian play Night Slows Down for the Bakehouse Theatre Company. Andre's recent performance in the one man hit show Swansong has achieved widespread critical acclaim. Swansong has sold out two seasons at Sydney's Old Fitz Theatre and Melbourne's Metanoia Theatre. Andre is currently performing a U.S tour of Swansong. The show has been 'Ovation!' recommended by the L.A Stage Alliance.
